Meta came out of some new Facebook updates for Self-served Ads that will be applicable by Jan. 3, 2023. We’ll go over them with some explanation to the most important sections in this declaration.
Section 1: Ads Inventory
This section introduces the idea of ad inventory. If we have a stock of a particular ad type, your request to run this ad will be approved and ads will begin to show for audience, but if a particular ad type is out of stock, again, your request to run this ad will be approved but the ad will wait in the line of advertisers until they have a stock from this specific type. Furthermore, Facebook won’t even guarantee the success or failure of your ads.
Section 2: Policies Adherence
It is stated in this section, which is not at all new, that all advertisers must abide by all Meta Facebook updates, rules and regulations to prevent restrictions, cancellation, or termination of the ads or accounts.
Section 3: Rejecting Ads for Any Reason
Once more, Meta is attempting to exert control over advertisers by granting itself the authority to reject or cancel ads for any reason without any clear explanation according to it’s non-disclosure rules for
Section 4: Payment Updates & Taxes
- Almost any other payment terms other than credit or debit cards won’t be accepted by Meta any longer.
- the advertiser will pay his amounts due in addition to taxes specified by Meta for Facebook updates.
- Your account’s security is your responsibility so you can no longer send to the support complaining about a hacked account.
- You can decide to delete or switch off any of your ads but this action may take up to 24 hours to process, in other words, you ad may continue to run up to an extra 24 hours after you decided to pause it & you’ll, definitely be charged for these extra amount till the ad stopped.
- Within a given time frame, any amounts due that falls within this range will be directly deducted from your credit/debit card but you’ll be notified in advance if any charge will exceed the agreed ranges.
- You will be charged for the amounts of your ads plus applicable taxes, including without limitation withholding taxes. You are responsible for bearing and remitting to your client any taxes that apply to your transactions & Meta is not responsible if you failed to do so .
- You’ll pay a 1% interest per month for any amounts due
- You, as an advertiser, will be categorized under two main categories: Invoiced & No-invoiced Advertiser. The invoiced advertiser is the one who run ads & then charged for the amounts due while the non-invoiced advertiser pay in advance of running ads. Meta decides you’ll be put under which category. being classified in one doesn’t mean that you’ll last in it, as Meta has the right to switch you to the other one anytime depending on the ad account spend & how you’re committed to paying your debts on time.
Section 5: System Testing & Updates May Affect Your Ads Results.
Meta all the time is running tests on their Facebook updates on the system to improve the performance & infrastructure the thing that will affect your ads positively or negatively & Meta isn’t responsible for this too!
Section 6: More Control Over Ads
Size, placement and positioning of your ads is totally up to Meta
Section 7: Ads Delivery Might not be continuous
If you published a campaign then approved to start delivering this doesn’t mean that it will continue to deliver since you didn’t decide to pause it, absolutely not, it may stop delivering at any time without getting back to you.
Section 8 & 9: Unguaranteed ِAds Performance
Your ads’ reach or performance, such as the number of people who will see them or the number of clicks they will receive, are not guaranteed by Meta.
Additionally, Meta is powerless to influence the way clicks are generated on your ads, and we disclaim all liability for click fraud, technical malfunctions, and other potentially invalid click activity that may increase the cost of running ads.
Section 10: Your Ad info is Public
Here, we’re referring to your page transparency & Facebook ad library. Anyone can access your currently running ads from your page transparency section in your “About” in Facebook updated new pages experience. Also, you agree that your advertising content will be disclosed to any governmental entity if this will assist in any lawful investigations.
This Section Also includes some details about social issues, elections & politics, but since it is not the concern of 90% of advertisers we won’t gonna deep in that.
Section 11: More Detailed Reports
We, as advertisers, will receive reports on who is seeing your ads and how well they are performing. The Data Use Restrictions in our Advertising Policies apply to your use of these reports.
Section 12: “Why I am seeing this ad?” Section
This point is not new to any of us, it is about the new rules of “why i am seeing this ad” & you agree on this again.
Section 13: Before you complain, you must tell us
Without our prior written consent from Facebook, you shall not release any press releases or make other public remarks on your relationship with Facebook or the Facebook Products.
Section 14: “Advertiser” Role is your responsibility
If you’re a page admin & gave access to any person or agency as an “advertiser” for your page to run ads on your behalf; you’re 100% responsible for any activities made by this advertiser. i.e Facebook may hold you liable for any violations by the advertiser you are representing of these Self-serve Ad Terms & vice versa. In addition to that, you agree that campaign reporting information will be shared to both of you.
Section 15: Supplemental Terms
When using a particular service or capability made accessible through the Self-serve Ad Interfaces, you could be requested to evaluate and accept extra conditions. Your continuing use of the Self-serve Ad Interfaces after any revisions are made to these Self-serve Ad Terms signifies your acceptance of such changes.
Section 16: Contracting Parties
In accordance with the relevant Terms of Service in your area, the organisation that delivers the Facebook Products will enforce Facebook’s Advertising Policies (and its Community Standards as incorporated).
Section 17: Disputes & Claims
The dispute resolution provision in the Commercial Terms governs any claim, cause of action, or disagreement that results from or is related to these Self-serve Ad Terms.
